SPARK

Supporting Participation and Activities for Resilient Kids

Iniative

The SPARK Initiative is designed to aid children and youth across the community, predominantly those from low-income households, by providing funding for supplies and

school-related activities.

Mission

Through partnerships with local businesses and organizations, SPARK will provide a grant to one child per elementary school in Lowndes County School District, Valdosta City Schools, and one GA Pre-K program (not at an elementary school) annually, enabling them to participate fully in school life.

Scope

The grant will cover learning supplies and school-related activities (field trips, book fairs, vendor days, etc.) for the school year.

How It Works

01. Fundraising

Funds for the grants will be raised predominantly two ways: through sponsors and donors.

Sponsors are the principal supporters of the initiative. These organizations/individuals will fund the entire grant for one (or more) child and must sign a sponsorship agreement. Sponsors will receive special perks to include an exclusive SPARK Sponsor sticker to proudly display, a letter of appreciation from our CEO with details on the child sponsored, and other Williams & Company promotional items.

Any individual may donate to the SPARK initiative and there is no required dollar amount. Contributions of all sizes are welcomed! These funds will assist with the administration and execution of the initiative.

You may contribute three ways:

  • By selecting the donation "products" on LUMINOVA.

These are not actual products and sales tax will not be charged. 100% of the funds go to SPARK.

  • By purchasing any item from LUMINOVA, to include official 2024 SPARK T-Shirts!

From July 1 - July 31, 2024 10% of all LUMINOVA sales will go to SPARK.

  • By renting a vehicle from Williams & Co. Rentals between July 1 - July 31, 2024.

For this time period, 10% of every trip will go toward SPARK.

02. Preparing

Preparing is a joint effort between our company, the schools and community volunteers.

This phase of the initiative includes:

  • Purchasing and preparing learning supplies and backpacks
  • Processing funds and preparing checks for schools
  • Preparing certificates for students and letters of appreciation for schools and sponsors
  • All other administrative tasks

To request to volunteer, send a message to the SPARK team below.

03. Implementing

The implementation phase is where schools will select their recipient(s) for the year and certificates and learning supplies will be hand-delivered to students by our CEO.

This phase will begin in August after the start of the school year and will occur over several weeks. Our company will coordinate with each school independently to determine the most appropriate time to present the certificate(s) and supplies.

Each recipient will receive:

  • An official SPARK certificate
  • A backpack with learning supplies
  • A personal letter from our CEO
  • Promotional SPARK/Williams & Company items

We are certain that with the support and care of our community,  we can make an everlasting impact on the children of Lowndes County.
